Employment and experience
MA Journalism at the University of Sheffield (2017-present): Currently studying at NCTJ accredited and the best journalism school in the country, funded by a JDF scholarship.
Marketing consultant and community manager at Creation-ADM (2014-present): Advertising and branding company. I worked as a full-time employee for 6 months, but I now maintain a freelance relationship with the business.
Founded Sheffield Hallam University’s student newspaper, H-News (2016-2017):
The Sheffield Star (2017): 1-week work experience placement.
Sheffield Live Media (2016): 2-month, 3 day a week voluntary work experience.
University of Sheffield’s Social Political and Economic Research Institute (SPERI) research internship (2016): 2-month voluntary internship. I produced high-quality research that analysed the effect of European Union Directives on UK employment and immigration law.
The Telegraph education writer (2015-2016): I regularly contributed to The Telegraph’s education section where I covered student, social justice, political and young person issues.
Call centre assistant at Veolia Waste Management (2017): 7 months’ full-time employment. I Handled a wide variety of calls dealing with customer’s use of waste services. I became extremely proficient with the company’s database and IT systems, helping me to handle each request quickly and professionally.
Customer assistant at Debenhams (2012-2014): Worked as part of a team to provide excellent customer service. I lead several teams involved in installing new promotions and events held by the store.

Awards
Journalism Diversity Fund Scholarship (2017): Due to my work experience with media organisations and my own initiative I was awarded a JDF scholarship to study MA Journalism at The University of Sheffield.
Thomas Reed Bursary (2017): On top of being awarded the JDF Scholarship, my application impressed the NCTJ so much I was also awarded the exclusive Thomas Reed Bursary.
Awarded the Hallam Gold Award (2016): This was for my work in reshaping the university’s student media. This is the second highest award the university can award a student.
Won Outstanding Contribution to Student Media award (2017): This was due to my work in setting up my university’s student newspaper where I was the sole writer for six months.
Awarded a postgraduate scholarship worth £10,000 by Sheffield Hallam University (2015): I won the scholarship due to my dissertation, which was commended for the quality of my writing and the thoroughness of my research.
